I have been a golf instructor for ten years and the best way that I can describe it is it’s somewhere between being a psychiatrist and a magician. People come to us with their problems and expect us to perform miraculous tricks. There is no substitute for hard work and practice but if there is one drill that can universally improve everyone’s game this is it:
The Feet-Together Drill
This drill teaches balance, release, timing and consistency. Stand with your feet together and your chin up out of your chest. Push your rear back and get in a good athletic posture with your feet touching. (see pic #4)

Picture #4 Picture #5 Picture #6
Start a backswing and take the club back above waist-high. Your hands should be even with your hips and your left arm should remain straight. The toe of the club should point straight up towards the sky. (see pic #5)
Hit down on the ball extending the right arm through the shot. Concentrate on getting to the proper finish position with the toe of the club again pointing straight up towards the sky. The right forearm should cross the left in the finish position. The idea of “trying to make your forearms touch” is sometimes helpful in this drill.
This drill should improve your fragile golf psyche and make your slice disappear.
Good Luck
